The Biography of David Sperry and his new CD for 2008, "Love Lessons"
finally come together in a story of a true Country Music Fan. Love Lessons is a true come to life CD, and it's a huge turn-around for David's music career. It's a story CD of rewards and heartaches from a singer who originally took Country Music and turned it into Christian Music and helped keep it true to his heart from back in the early 2000.
David's drive to carry on and sing songs has led him to his latest CD." Love Lessons." The CD is grounded in the traditional sound from Don Williams, Kenny Rogers and Tracy Byrd. It's a collection he heard growing and singing throughout his life, and with the addition of fresh sounds that speak to today's music fans. Love Lessons captures his personal music style more than ever which is an older traditional sound.
When David takes the stage or he's in the studio, the story telling begins. Things don't get much more positive than this CD which is based on the Love Lessons and experiences from his life.
Starting with the first song "Someone to call me Darlin" is a vivid and personal statement that speaks of prayer and how God answered those prayers with David telling the story through song after song. Those of us who have followed David's recording career and those of us who have not, still know his heart to a point because of the songs he recorded and learned over the years.
The Tennessee Production Center and the Staff, Amber Delozier, Dana King, Engineers Jamie Townsend and Jack Hill who helped record and worked with him in Tennessee has become a big part of David's life when it comes to the studio and the music.
David loves and appreciates all his fans and thanks all of the people that have supported him and his music. David is an influence to many of today’s Country fans and Christian fans. He is a colorful character and is truly a Country, Christian and Bluegrass music treasure.
David has been singing continuously in public since 2000 and now is hot on the heels of Country Christian music. He has decided to make the move to record another all Christian CD for 2009. His left-of-center style applies to both Country and Christian music and his image for who he really is. In the midst of everything David didn't play any hat tricks. He continued to pursue and to co-write and sing better songs resulting in the recording for his new CD "We Shall Meet". His incessant desire to grow musically and spiritually has led him to move forward in his music career.
David continues to defy the rules as an artist to co-write most of the songs in which has already been recorded from other artist in the past. As the 2009 year is getting ready to move over for 2010, there was no reason to believe that this artist would end his singing career any time soon. David feels that he is just getting warmed up and started.
By November 2009, David just couldn't take it anymore. His desires to record another CD was excelling to the roof. In the past years, Financial woes, divorce, the death of his brother and life in general contributes to this new CD leaving David reliving his past and emotionally drained. So, in true David Sperry has refashioned himself and realizes he is blessed and refuses to compromise, and takes on his new CD project which led him back to the studio. This time as always, he was going to record it and do it his way.
With longtime friends at the Tennessee Production Center, David stood behind the microphone once again rediscovering his voice,style and himself. The studio has always been fun for him and when he was finished recording this CD, he realized that some songs he recorded brought tears to the eyes and some songs gave him peace and joy.
Biography
He related to many of the songs, and he was inspired to sing and record them because of his personal life experiences. His first CD "He Still Looks Over Me" launched his career and he began performing for audiences at a variety of venues from clubs, weddings and churches to a backyard BBQ.
There always seems to be a story of joys and heartaches behind every singer, and David Sperry is no exception. After working for a factory for 23 years, David’s career abruptly ended when the company ceased operations. He then went to work with a private ambulance company transporting patients, particularly the elderly. Although he took a reduction in pay, he enjoyed working with the elderly and had more free time to work on his music. Often his patients requested that he sing or play his CD for them. His music touched their hearts, which also blessed him. David went from place to place singing mostly in nursing homes and churches, and his popularity grew.
In late 2001, David received a recording certificate from Judy's DJ supplies in Lancaster Ohio. This allowed him the opportunity to start working with the Tennessee Productions Center Inc. A prestigious recording studio in Tennessee which has recorded popular well known Artists. David really enjoyed singing in the studio, and his love for music and singing started to blossom.
When David’s younger brother tragically died in 2002, David turned even more to music to heal. From that point on, He started working with The Tennessee Production Center. He recorded his second CD, "Because He Lives" in late 2002. The 1st song, “Go Rest High On That Mountain” (written by Vince Gill) was dedicated to his brother "Kenneth W. Sperry".
The recording of the second CD lit a fire to his career, with popular songs like “Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning? and “Lord I Hope This Day Is Good.”
In 2003, David recorded his third CD "I Believe In You" which included the inspirational and popular song "Long Black Train.” David’s goal for sales of CD’s was amazingly surpassed with record sales in 2003 and 2004.
Although David loves country music, He also loves singing Christian music and ministering to people and seeing people give their lives to Jesus Christ. After singing for several years and experiencing many other heartbreaking situations, David felt he was being called to record his fourth CD, "I Am I Said." (Written by Neil Diamond) which was recorded in 2006. This includes heart felt songs such as, “Three Wooden Crosses,” “Wayfaring Stranger,” and “Stars and Stripes”.
With a new prospective on life, David was motivated to record his fifth cd in late summer of 2007, “There's Only You". His faith was growing and his heart for God is evidenced in songs like his favorite, “Jesus And Mama” and “There's Only You”.
